still not feeling healthy

You may be really super fit and healthy!  You eat right, exercise daily, and run marathons every six months.  But we all have that feeling of *uhg-ness* in our hearts.  You might have said something you shouldn't have or you pulled your sisters hair to get a reaction... and now you sort of feel something in your heart.  Or you may be really nice to your family members but you would die if your parents knew how you acted around your friends.  We all feel something at some point of our lives; guilt, greed, selfishness, or even depression.  We feel like our emotional lives are being taken over and everything is going wrong; you get a D on your final exam (even though you studied your butt off) and you struggle with your homework, your parents get upset and you don't know who to turn to.  You feel so gross on the inside and you want to do something about it; you wish you could just rip out that monster inside of you and ship it to mars where it belongs!  I have felt this way before!  No one is ever alone on this feeling, from little kids to teens to grown ups, we all feel like this.  We want a cure, don't we???  Well, I do know the cure for this!  That cure is God.

Now before we get into God, I want to tell you guys somethings about me.  I was born into an amazing Christian family and I have always without a doubt loved my God!  Though I feel like people take God and put it with the "religious" group.  But it's not like that at all.  As a Christian, I read devotions and go to a great church and youth group, yet I wouldn't consider myself religious.  Why?  I read the Bible, right?  I go to church and youth group!  That sounds pretty religious, doesn't it?  I like to think of it more as a relationship with God;  when I pray, I feel as if I am actually talking with Him!  And when I'm with my Christian friends at youth group, we sing and praise Him as if he is right there in front of us.  Being a Christian is all about relationship, not being religious!  When you talk to the girl in biology everyday at school and you enjoy her company, you consider her a friend and she considers you a friend.  When we Christians talk (pray) to God, we consider Him a friend to us and He consider us friends with Him, too (though, he is friends with everybody, so he never leaves anyone left out!).  When we are friends with someone, we have a relationship with them.  Do you see where I'm coming off from?  Christians are not weird religious people!  We aren't restricted to not have fun or even smile to someone who isn't a Christian.  We want to have relationships with many people (and i'm not talking like boy friend girl friend relationship), so we can share the happiness Jesus brought to us!

God is the cure!  I don't know what kind of relationship you have with God, whether you are a 24/7 with God always, distant but still technically a Christian, or have no friendship/relationship with Him at all.  There are moments in my life where I feel like Hell just took over me and I am done fore, "Why am I even here, God???"  Just today, I read one of my little cutesie Bible verse cards on my bedroom door and read this awe striking quote, "Don't worry about tomorrow!  God is already there!"  How amazing is that?  I had this overwhelming amazing moment and it was such a God Thing!  So I pray that you will make the right decision and choose God as your cure (if you are curious about God and want to learn more about him, leave me a comment!  i'd be happy to answer as many questions as you might have.).

"Dear friend, do what I tell you; treasure my careful instructions.  Do what I say and you will live well."
Proverbs 7:1 MSG

God tells us this, and I 100% agree with this!

If you are a Christian and you feel kind of stuck in the muck with your relationship with God, read your Bible and pray!  Go to your local library and pick up a few teen devotion books.  Also, get involved with a good youth group that motivates you to serve for Him.  Spend fifteen minutes a day reading and praying and you will feel really refreshed, just as if you went on a brisk walk ;)

"The lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
