I know it has been insanely forever! I have been really busy with school and family/friends stuff. And what with Holidays approaching, I can't seem to doing anything healthy. What can I say, I'm a s.n.o.b. ;)
I also need to use my camera more often. I think I'm partially lazy on that side of it, haha!
What I'm hoping is to put some healthy recipes, makeup tips and suggestions, and encouraging quotes :) But I will have to spend some time trying to figure that out.
Chat with you guys later!

my new best friends
Here are some objects that have been my must haves for the past few days now :D (all photos found on bing.com)
Protecting your beautiful eyes is very important! And you can protect them in style, too! |
I kind of got sun burned this weekend, so I've been slabbing on aloe when I get the chance. |
I always end up coming back to this shampoo and conditioner; it smells great and makes your hair 'uber soft d; |

a change of direction
Because I'm a s.n.o.b., I wasn't really on track with my no bread diet. I didn't really realize how many foods have bread in them until I was on the diet! XD But whatever.
Last week, I started Weight Watchers with a friend of mine. I have been on and off with WW since I was in the 5th grade. Mostly because my family and I would go on vacation to California a lot and so I would go on WW to get in shape :) Since I have started high school, I haven't had the time to start WW, though it has really been on my mind. For the past few months, I had been exercising about 45 minutes every other day. But I just noticed I was getting stronger, not leaner and more toned.
Since I have started WW, which has been a full week, I have noticed a huge difference. My posture is a lot more straight, I've been drinking a lot more water, and I've done all I can to squeeze in a few workouts everyday.
I have to be honest, the first few days I started Weight Watchers, I was okay with it. I wanted to feel great and I just kept telling myself, "Just one day at a time! That's all it is!". But now as I'm starting a new week, I feel like I'm missing out like I usually have felt in my past diets. I'm not really thinking how I'm just taking this one day at a time, but I'm focusing on what I want to look like. And I realize, that is what has made me, let's face it, a failure in the past!
What is Weight Watchers All About?
WW is not about no getting to eat the foods you love. It is in fact the complete opposite! This diet is to help on your portions and to help teach yourself to get in the habit of exercises and all things healthy... just with starving yourself of course.
For every day, depending on how old you are, you are given a specific amount of points. We as WW "do-er's", consider food as points. We use a little paper tablet devise to calculate how many points something is using the total number of calories, fat, and dietary fiber.
WW also has a system called the "Points Booster" system, which is exactly what it sounds like. Another little paper tablet will calculate how many points you can earn back after exercising, using how hard you were working out, how long you were working out for, and how much you weigh.
My total of points per day is 27. It may seem a lot for each day, but something like an apple is 1pt and a bowl of cereal with non fat milk is 4pts. So you can see it all adds up fast. I plan on working my points per day down to 21 points or lower, but no lower than 19 (remember, we don't want to starve ourselves). I am a teenager, and 21 points is a healthy rate, but for now I'm going to start at 27.
One thing I will not be doing in this diet is the Points Booster system, only because I don't want to use those extra points that I worked off, and put them back into my body again. If I'm going to workout or work off the calories, I want to keep them off!
I am going on a trip in less than a month and a half, so I will record what and how I'm doing. Like I said, it has already been 1 week since I started WW and I have lost 5-7 pounds! I will write more, :)

the perfect example of s.n.o.b.
I have been a s.n.o.b. trooper for a while now. I went on my "diet" for about two weeks and I simply went overboard. I have too many excuses I could say right now, but it's too... ugh. I also haven't been on my blog for a while dX Why work up all of this energy and thought into a blog, and not be able to just...do it? Why not just delete the blog, if I'm not doing anything. Well to be honest, I really thought about it. I think (in a sappy way) that if I get away from all things involving the computer will be healthier for me. I will be gone for a while (not saying that i haven't haha) But I will be gone from all things computer for a while. Starting tomorrow I will go on my "diet" again. I have also been trying to go on more walks lately :D So I guess bye for now:) Wish me luck,

diets
So I've been noticing my jeans have been falling apart and I told myself I need to get new jeans! But then, I was like, "Well maybe I should go on a diet so I can go down a few sizes before I let my family buy some for me." So that's what I'm doing. A diet. But not just any brand diet. I am doing a teenager-y diet just for me. I have tried out so many diets in the passed and the only best results without starving myself was Weight Watchers. I loved it (did you know you can lose 7 lbs in a week??). With experience, I knew starting WW again would take a lot out of me for even just one day. I don't really have time to write down what I'm eating and how many points is this macaroni, blah blah blah. With school, I just need to focus on school. I can't bring my life into school.
I found this great book called Diet Drama by Nancy Redd. I love everything about this book, I am tempted to buy it instead of having to recheck it out several times from the library. Nancy categorizes her "plans" into three sections of the book; Love Your Body, Move Your Body, and Feed Your Body. With amazing exercise tips and portion sizing's for snacks 100 calories or under, I thought I'd use some of Nancy's work.
If you have ever opened up a diet book, where it shows you "easy recipes for better bods!" or "pump these moves into your schedule!" and "it hurts, but it works!", you might notice that all of the women modeling out the exercises are size 0s. I don't know about you, but that turned me off for a bunch of diet books. I am not your average size two, but I would at least like to see some, ya know, larger women in the diet books. I don't know, I guess it's just me XP
With Nancy's book, and I don't mean to be rude, everyone of the models are obese. "Normal" people might laugh at them, but I was so happy! The girls who were in the move your body section were doing fun dance moves and they looked like they had a great time doing all of it :D I was really happy.
Now what am I doing now? Well for starters, I am not eating any bread. I looked at what I was mostly eating everyday, and most of it was bread/doughy things. Second, I'm not eating any more pasta. I love pasta, but it sticks to me so much, I just had to get that out of my diet. No white rice! I love white rice, the only exception is brown rice because it's a little bit healthier. And after breaking 6 months of not having any soda, I had a soda a few days ago. I'm trying to get back into the no soda thing, so we'll see.
I have to go:D School time!
